Untitled[edit]

Shouldn't NEIT which is in Warwick be noted somewhere?

This is the first time I've heard any mention of the Department of Homeland Security getting involved in the Station fire. The deaths of 96 people would have been sufficient to make news without any DoHS involvement. -- Zoe

For the upteenth time Warwick and West Warwick are not the same place:

Pronunciation[edit]

In Warwick, England, the second 'w' is not pronounced. Do people in RI and nearby use the same pronunciation?

148.87.1.170

Haha, to answer your question, 148.87.1.170, many people do. However, this is due to our Rhode Island accents, and is not the official pronunciation of the city's name.

Is there an "official pronunciation" of the city's name? What is it? Where is Wikipedia's famous penchant for documentation? ;-) --Haruo (talk) 16:05, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Nathanael Greene[edit]

Isn't Nathanael Greene's town Coventry since his family owns land here? ~~KB1KOI~~

Gaspee[edit]

The article mentions Gaspee, but it should be more indepth and mention where the guy (forgot his name) got shot...heh heh.

Pronunciation.[edit]

Warwick is named after the English city of the same name and was pronounced the same originally in Rhode Island but overtime people started there pronouncing it incorrectly.

It was originally pronounced Worick (as they do in England) but now people in Rhode Island pronounce it war-wick.

HardeeHar (talk) 11:17, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Warwick was named in honor of the Earl of Warwick who enabled Samuel Gorton to obtain a charter. And native Rhode Islanders pronounce it "warrik". —Dilidor (talk) 13:20, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
